Annie Bevan, Global Head of Sustainability for Superior Essex Communications, was named to the Environment + Energy Leader 100 List for 2019.
The Environment & Energy Manager Conference (ELEMCON) named its annual list of influencers and will celebrate each individual at its conference in Denver on May 13-15. The list is comprised of VPs, directors, managers and engineers that are making significant strides in driving forward the sustainability industry. ELEMCON is designed to bring together thought leaders and change makers to share experience and best practices through learning and networking opportunities.
Bevan, who oversees the Superior Essex Communications market leading sustainability program, works to collaborate and accelerate a sustainability platform through engagement with both customers and suppliers.
She said that the recognition is personally satisfying as well as team-earned.
“Anytime that a respected organization like this identifies you as a person making a positive impact on environmental and energy management it is an honor,” Bevan said. “The sustainability initiative at Superior Essex is something that is fundamental to us as an organization and while the E+E 100 presented me with this nomination it is not something that any one individual celebrates on our team. This is an accommodation to the hard work of a lot of people who are working to move sustainability in the same direction.”
Bevan is a sustainability professional with over 10 years of experience working with organizations to develop processes, procedures, and standards to analyze and certify various sustainability claims in products, supply chains, buildings, and within manufacturing operations. She is widely regarded in the industry as an expert in sustainability program development, corporate social responsibility and third-party verification.
Brian Ensign, Superior Essex Communications Vice President of Demand Creation and International Sales, said that Bevan is more than deserving of the recognition.
“Annie makes her profession seem effortless because she is personally driven by a passion to create positive sustainability changes through collaboration,” he said. “During the time the I have known her as well as worked alongside her, there have been few that can match Annie in forward thinking for green building and efficiency.
“Her being named to the E+E 100 is recognition for what she brings to the entire industry and not just inside Superior Essex Communications.”
This is the third year of the award and the first time that a Superior Essex Communications member has been nominated. Other winners include representatives from Mastercard, Sprint, Lockheed Martin, Kimberly-Clark, UPS, Microsoft, and Ecolab, among others.
The ELECOM 2019 program website is now live; speakers for the event include Cedar Blakez (U.S. Department of Energy), Jon Radtke (Coca-Cola), Katie Wallace (New Belgium Brewing), and John Friedman (WGL Holdings, Inc.), among many others. Click here for more information.
