Superior Essex Recognized for Industry Leading Performance and Innovation in Sustainability by TIA

Superior Essex, a leading manufacturer and supplier of communications cabling products, has been awarded a 2018 TIA Global Sustainability Award for Non-Electronics Hardware. The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) announced the 2018 Global Sustainability Award winners on Thursday, June 14th. Superior Essex was one of only four companies, including Nokia and Infosys, to be recognized by TIA for performance and innovation in corporate sustainability.

“It’s an honor to be selected as one of the 2018 Global Sustainability Award winners,” says Will Bryan, Superior Essex Vice President of Marketing and Technology. “This recognition is a true testament, not only to our sustainability performance, but also to our commitment to inspiring industry peers through benchmarking tools such as the QuEST Sustainability Assessor.”

TIA’s Global Sustainability Awards recognize organizations achieving excellence and showcasing energy, passion and innovation in corporate sustainability. Entrants were judged based on assessments from TIA’s QuEST Sustainability Assessor Tool. The QuEST Assessor is a one-of-a-kind, 10-point assessment tool that enables companies to self-assess, benchmark their activities against industry best practices and receive customized recommendations for improvement on sustainability topics such as environmental management, stakeholder engagement and eco design.

“It is more important than ever for businesses to understand and manage their sustainability supply chain performance and connect their environmental impacts to their bottom lines. TIA congratulates Nokia, Infosys, i-Qor and Superior Essex on winning the 2018 Global Sustainability Awards,” said TIA CEO Wes Johnston. “At TIA, we recognize the value sustainability brings to overall business performance across the ICT industry. We applaud our four winners for their outstanding commitment to optimizing their sustainability footprint and business performance standards to deliver the highest levels of quality.”
